2014 L’Immigrante Nebbiolo
Lifted aromas of roses and violets on the nose. Rich, chewy, deep, long lasting blackberry, plum and herb flavours on the palate. Smooth and stable tannins and acidity. This is a wine that will reward cellaring.
‘Spends 12 months in French oak, 30% new, then another year in large format oak followed by 2 years in bottle before release. While the colour has dropped out – it’s a light-brick hue, it’s come together well riding a savoury line interspersed with cherries and pips, new leather, cedary and warm spices. Lighter-bodied for a nebbiolo but the raspy tannins counter that and it’s ready now.’ 92 points
